THE CHALLENGE
Trinity College, University of Melbourne required specialist advice regarding the flagstones surrounding the Leeper Building. As the last remaining examples of their kind within the college, these pavers possess distinct historical, aesthetic, and rarity value that required expert assessment.
OUR APPROACH
Heritage Workshop conducted a detailed heritage investigation to determine provenance and significance:
► Archival Research: We analysed historical records, including 1937 photography and MMBW architectural drawings, to trace the material history of the site.
► Site Assessment: A physical inspection and expert consultation evaluated the condition and rarity of the stone in the context of the wider campus.
THE OUTCOME
We delivered a comprehensive significance assessment and conservation strategy. Our recommendations provided the college with a clear framework for the documentation and future preservation of these significant landscape elements.
